Magnificent Beach Weddings

If you are considering a quiet and intimate Mexico beach wedding, now you know which beaches are considered to be Mexico's best. After all, it comes down to you and your fiancé's personal choice -- or, in my case, my husband's selection as we are renewing our vows - so that you, too, can find out which beach suits you best. Then, you can discuss your Mexico wedding selection with your Destination Wedding Specialist, so that you can plan your perfect beach wedding as well. Oh, this is just so exciting! I honestly cannot wait to get started!

Beach Wedding Dresses

Goddess destination wedding dresses are not just for beach weddings. They can be worn for all kinds of different destinations weddings as they work well in just about any setting. They would look fabulous at a garden wedding, but would also work well with a traditional church wedding.

Out of Town Wedding Planning, Wedding Gowns

If you're planning a wedding out-of-town, don't forget to send save-the-date cards to your guests. These should go out six months to a year before the big day. That's well in advance of the invitation, which for a destination wedding should go out at least eight weeks prior.

What's a save-the-date? It's simply a card or note that literally requests that people hold a particular date open on their calendar so they don't schedule anything else in the meantime for that date.

The importance of save-the-dates for destination weddings is obvious. Guests will have to travel to your wedding. So they'll have to take more time out of their schedule (and more money out of their budgets) than if the wedding were close by. Your guests will need extra time to plan.

Beach Wedding Gowns

I am an admitted pure beach bum, always have been. Nothing makes me happier that an amazing beach and that amazing blue azure water that you find all over the tropics. I was actually looking over my own Destination Wedding photos last night and found that there are certain photos from beach weddings that really accentuate the water and the wedding dress.

Destination Wedding Gowns, Wedding Dresses

If you are getting married in a museum, art exhibit, or some place that is known for forward thinking fashion such as Paris, then a modern wedding dress may be for you. Unlike other styles of wedding dresses though, a modern dress can also fit in well with a beach wedding or a garden wedding, depending on the style you like. Modern destination wedding dresses are left up to the imagination and creativity of the bride.

Wedding Gowns, wedding dresses

A one-shoulder wedding dress can be casual or formal. They can be a great option for a beach wedding with a casual feeling. On the other hand, find a princess style one-shoulder gown and it could very well fit into a more formal garden or museum wedding.

Beach Weddings

There’s nothing quite as alluring as a beach wedding, but it’s important to maintain that theme with your wedding favors. Make sure your wedding guests leave with more than just sand in their sandals. The following beach wedding favors are fun, inexpensive and sure to conjure beachside memories for years to come:

Shell design place card holders
Beach-themed glass coaster wedding favors
Flip-flop photo frame
Starfish wine stopper
Beach pail candle holder favors
“Hot Wedding” themed sunscreen favors
Palm tree wedding favor boxes
Palm tree themed soap

The Affordable Cocktail Party

Cocktail receptions are one of my favorite things to do on a limited budget.

Hold your reception on a Sunday, cheaper than Saturday night. State on your invitation that the event is for cocktails, so guests won’t expect dinner.

You’ll save thousands on decorations simply because you won’t need big floral arrangements. Decorate small cocktail tables with candles and modest bunches of blooms.

For budge, I suggest offering fingers foods like Italian breads, olives, artichoke hearts and cheeses, finger fruits and salads. Nestle the food amid small bunches of flowers and grapevines. Arrange the wedding cake on its own table.

Wedding Questions Continued

Question
We’re not Jewish, but we love the significance and look of a huppah. Can we still use one at the ceremony?

Answer
Just call it a canopy instead of a huppah, and of course you can have one. Wedding canopies are especially popular for outdoor ceremonies, where they can help define the altar area. According to Jewish wedding custom, four attendants hold or stand by the poles, and a prayer shawl is draped over the top. Obviously, you’d omit these specific elements, but feel free to get creative with other details and embellishments.
